Position Summary:
The Receptionist is a key member of our specialty practice, serving as the first point of contact for patients, referring offices, and vendors. This position is responsible for ensuring a professional and welcoming experience while handling administrative duties such as scheduling, patient intake, insurance verification, and communication with healthcare professionals. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, compassionate, organized, and capable of multitasking in a fast-paced clinical environment.
Primary Responsibilities:
Greet patients and visitors warmly, ensuring a professional and pleasant first impression
Answer multi-line phones, direct calls appropriately, and respond to inquiries from patients and referring dental offices
Schedule and confirm appointments using medical practice management software
Verify insurance eligibility and benefits prior to appointments
Collect co-pays, balances, and necessary paperwork at check-in and check-out
Input and update patient information accurately into the electronic system
Communicate with referring providers to coordinate patient care
Prepare and send patient correspondence, referral letters, and post-visit reports
Maintain HIPAA-compliant patient records and confidentiality
Assist with general office tasks such as scanning, faxing, filing, and mail distribution
Support clinical team with patient flow and administrative needs as necessary
Ensure the reception area is clean, organized, and welcoming at all times
Qualifications:
Bachelors Degree
No prior experience needed
Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills
Strong attention to detail and ability to multitask
Professional demeanor and a team-oriented attitude
Ability to maintain patient confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA guidelines
